About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Team Manager to work within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) based at Chord Park in Godmanchester and the Assessment Team based in Cambridgeshire.
The Team Manager MASH post covers both Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council and is co-located with the partner agencies within the Integrated Front Door Service. MASH works closely with the Customer Contact Centre who ensures that contacts are sent to the relevant pathways of the service.
The Team Manager Assessment posts are in Cambridgeshire County Council and will work collaboratively with other professionals ensuring immediate and prompt responses to referrals progressed into children social care for an assessment until closure, stepped down or transferred to other teams at the relevant transfer point.
To be successful in either of the roles you will require strong leadership skills and relevant experience working in Children Social Care. You will be overseeing multi agency enquires/referrals, using verbal and written communication skills to engage with workers and partner agencies to apply thresholds for intervention and analyse level of risk. You will be able to demonstrate that you can think creatively in delivering targeted support, will have a significant level of knowledge and experience in children’s social care and understanding thresholds. This role will include work allocation, performance monitoring, dealing with staffing issues and the training and development of the team. The right candidate will have responsibility for the team plan to meet objectives and ensure performance targets are achieved. This post is office based and has flexible working arrangement. The person
It will be important that you have the desire to want to make a personal contribution to improving our service. The role requires someone with passion and drive to improve the outcomes and lived experience of our children and to ensure the right support for our workers. You will need to demonstrate significant post-qualifying experience of statutory children social care practice, experience of working with children, young people, and their families on plans, be familiar with child protection systems and processes, court work and working with children who are looked after. You should also have knowledge of statutory requirements and local procedures and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a team and ensure high standards of performance are practiced and maintained. You must have a Social Worker qualification and be registered with Social Work England, and the ability to travel around the county is essential.
