About the role

The SEND Technology Trainer will be working very closely with our SEND Technology Advisor providing specialist technology training to children and young people in schools. At present the role will be providing this training to children/young people in schools in Cambridgeshire although there may be a requirement for travel further afield and at least through the East of England in the future. After the 6 month probation period, there is likely to be an aspect of administration – solely focussed around these two roles providing a valuable service to children and young people.

You will be part of our consultant team, where we also have experts in Data Protection and GDPR, school management information systems, safeguarding and e-safety, and Online Learning.

The ICT Service is a charging service within Cambridgeshire County Council, with 45 staff. We operate on a commercial footing, where we market and sell our services to schools, and, in the case of our SEND Technology work, to the County Council on behalf of schools.

Note that initially this is a 24 month contract.

For more information or to chat about this opportunity please contact Richard Riley, SEND Technology Advisor, richard.riley@theictservice.org.uk, or call on 01223 772942 (please leave a message).

About you

Can you help us continue this valuable service by answering, ’Yes!’ to the following questions?

  • Would you like variety in your work?
  • Would you like to support children in a variety of settings?
  • Would you genuinely like to make a difference to children’s learning and their lives?
  • Would you like to work with friendly and supportive colleagues?
  • Do you work as well under your own supervision?
  • Do you passionately believe that technology can positively impact students with SEND?
  • Are you conscientious, honest, not frightened of stepping forward and suggesting improvements (or to ask for help when you need it), and determined to provide an excellent service?

If so, we want to talk with you.
