Job Title: Pollution Prevention Analyst

Circa £30,500 – depending on skills and experience

Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours a week

Hybrid working / Regional role (Location Flexible)

The Pollution Prevention Analyst provides a vital service to the business, supporting our understanding of our performance and shaping where future investment and activity is directed.

What will you be doing?

This role is fundamental in supporting our reduction activities through the collection and analysis of pollution root cause to influence future investment and activity.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with our regulator to ensure accuracy in our pollution reporting and support continuous improvement of our pollution processes.

You’ll build a network across the business working collaboratively with teams such as Operations, Tactical Operations, Performance and Regulation at all levels.

The role involves but is not limited to: 

  • Collate information on pollution incidents such as root cause, implicated asset and environmental impact

  • Seek trends in our data to support the direction of investment and positive continuous improvement of our processes and procedures

  • Investigate pollution incidents to provide additional evidence to the regulator in the style of a formal report (Pollution Incident Review)

  • Improve understanding of key regulatory documentation such as 16_02 and CICs across the business

  • Be an advocate for the environment, promoting a zero pollutions mindset

What does it take to be a Pollution Prevention Analyst?

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent

  • Understanding of social, political, environmental, regulatory, financial drivers for the reduction of pollution incidents  

  • Basic level of operational knowledge of water and water recycling processes

  • Analytical and data interrogation skillset with the ability to translate data outputs into actionable information

  • Strong attention to detail   

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience producing reports or formal documentation

  • Proficient user of IT, specifically Excel and PowerBi

  • Ability to adapt and manage changing priorities and deadlines  

  • Ability to build relationships with others

  • Full driving licence (occasionally required to undertake field visits which are only accessible by car)
