About the role

Term time only 11.45am to 1:15pm each week day.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, resilient, calm, patient and demonstrate a positive outlook.

An understanding or experience of how to support individuals with additional needs is desirable but not essential, we have a supportive team who will share routines and best practice with the successful candidate.

As a 1:1 MDS, your tasks during the meal would include:

ï‚· supervising the child in the hall

ï‚· encouraging good table manners

 making sure the child’s behaviour does not become too boisterous

After the meal you would:

ï‚· supervise the 1:1 child in the playground (or in the hall or classroom in wet weather)

ï‚· stop any dangerous behaviour

ï‚· deal with any quarrels or fights

ï‚· comfort the child if they become upset

ï‚· deal with minor injuries such as cuts, grazes and bruises

ï‚· sometimes organise and supervise games

Skills, interests and qualities

To be a lunchtime supervisor you should have:

ï‚· enjoyment of working with children and the ability to control and supervise them

ï‚· patience ï‚· the ability to stay calm in an emergency

ï‚· good communication skills

ï‚· a reasonable level of fitness

ï‚· the ability to work as part of a team

The start date for employment is as soon as possible.

We have two roles available, one as a general lunchtime supervisor, the second to begin by supporting a year 6 pupil 1:1 and then moving to a general role in September.

The role is term time only 11.45am to 1:15pm each week day.
Rate of pay: Point 2- £22366 FTE, £11.59 p/h
