Import Supply Planner

Experienced Import Supply Planner – Accrington – £30,000-£35,000pa DOE required to join our supply chain team.

The Role – Import Supply Planner We are currently looking for an experienced Import Supply Planner to join our Supply team to manage order placement and stock flow with the Far East, Reporting, Risk identification, cross function communication and capacity management.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Order placement with Far east supplier base and management of PO deferral and Shipping confirmation processes with 3rd party freight forwarder
  • Stock level management for import category with management of stock between multiple distribution centres
  • Customer lead time management
  • Freight charge (demurrage & detention) tracking
  • Forecast vs actual analysis
  • Orderbook Summaries
  • Identify solutions to identified risks
  • New Product Introduction (NPI), Commercial discontinuation, SKU rationalisation, stock holding, trading plan, order book

Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience working in an import supply environment – Essential
  • Qualification in Supply Chain – Preferable
  • A good understanding of how a retail supply chain works especially from manufacturing through to warehousing (inbound, picking, stock control) and deliveries to store and customer

Skills needed

We are looking for an experienced Import Supply Planner with the following skills, experience and attributes to be successful in this role:

  • Experience working with Freight Forwarders & 3PLs – Essential
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft packages – Essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Good communication and relationship building skills
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrates ability to make decisions within agreed parameters
