About the role

We manage a portfolio of contracts to deliver highway works with a combined value in excess of £80m. This role will be key to managing our commercial elements of our relationship with our supply chain. This will include working with our partners, building positive relationships and achieving best value in terms of value for money, quality product and contributing to our net zero target.

Overall purpose of this role:

To provide construction cost management for the delivery of the Highway programme, circa £80m per annum.

To ensure a quality assurance and Value for Money attainment throughout all stages of the delivery of Highway works.

To ensure that project scoping, options appraisal and feasibilities are not overly engineered and look to meet the government construction agenda and deliver innovative cost effectiveness to the Council.

About you

You will be capable of interpreting a New Engineering Contract (NEC) and have experience in commercial practices including quantity surveying experience and an understanding of industry practices. You will be required to manage multi million pound target cost contracts and have the ability to influence cost management throughout the lifecycle of a project including but not limited to target cost setting, valuation, payment, change control and final accounting.
