About the role

Would you like to make a difference to the young people that need it most?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager to join us within our Children in Care Service based in Ely.

We are looking for candidates with strong leadership skills and a passion for supporting our children and young people aged between 0-18. You will be able to demonstrate that you can think creatively to deliver targeted support and project work underpinned by an aspirational attitude for our service users.  

You will have relevant experience working in Children’s Social Care and be familiar with the legal framework, statutory requirements and guidance which supports care experienced young people. You will need a good understanding of the challenges facing young people leaving our care, including separated migrant children.

You will have a good understanding around quality care planning and will support the team to deliver clear and concise Care Plans and Pathway plans, achieving good outcomes for our children and young people, including long-term fostering matches, adoptions and step-down plans for children in residential settings.

You will be vital in monitoring the stability of foster placements and think creatively around solutions to help maintain and stabilise them. You will also work closely with our Care Leavers service to support the preparation and transition plans for young people into adulthood.

You will have proven experience of supervising staff as this role will include work allocation, performance and quality monitoring, supporting staff, and the training and development of your team.

About you

You must:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
  • Have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently
