At South Gloucestershire Council we are immensely proud of the skills, abilities and compassion of all our social workers and wider team members – demonstrated even more so during the pandemic. As a Team Manager you will provide support, recognition, guidance and professional oversight to team members within your practice area.
Safeguarding will be at the heart of your practice as you will be responsible for delivering a consistent safeguarding service ensuring social workers understand and adhere to statutory legislation, guidance and policy in regard to children in need, those in need of protection and those cared for by the local authority.
You will provide strong leadership and support to enable the team to complete high quality assessments and plans for disabled children and young people, their families and carers. You will have a strong passion for supporting improvements and supporting staff through regular high-quality supervisions, team meetings and improving practice through audit and other improvement and monitoring activities and promoting south Gloucestershire practice model of safe, connected and thriving.
- First and foremost, as a supportive manager you will be able to get the best from your team members whilst ensuring they are fully supported and know how valued they are.
- Ensuring a focus on the individual and assisting in personal and professional development through the several available pathways and programmes offered by our Children’s Services.
- There has been a shift in how we manage and deliver our service, combining remote working with office based face-to-face management – you will be an adaptive and responsive manager to meet team and wider service objectives.
