Senior Environmental Advisor –
Job Description

Costain are working with Thames Water on a variety of water and wastewater projects and have fantastic opportunities for individuals to join our growing AMP8 delivery team, working predominantly across the Thames Valley and Thames South regions. There is a mix of projects ranging from smaller capital maintenance to large civil new build schemes.

The Senior Environment Advisor is required to support the Contract Environmental functions, provide, and support Environmental solutions and enable the Contract / Operational Teams to implement the SHE Management System. To build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, whilst providing an independent and objective view of SHE Performance on the Contract.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Role will be responsible for supporting the development of a Framework Carbon Plan.
  • Role will be responsible for supporting the completion of project specific carbon plans.
  • Role will be responsible for supporting project teams with monthly carbon / environmental data, and that it is submitted in good time for month end verification.
  • Role will be responsible for supporting the development of a Framework Nature Positive Plan.
  • Role will be responsible for ensuring that that the framework / projects are compliant with water management to meet the Framework Nature Positive Plan.
  • Role will be responsible for ensuring that the relevant Environmental Training that sits within the Costain SHE Training Matrix have been identified and that relevant persons are allocated the training.
  • Role will be responsible for ensuring that an Environmental Eliminating Harm Case Study is identified and submitted to the business.
  • Support the Environmental Team in its development and act as a Framework Support Function for the client, and Framework.
  • Management of day-to-day environmental issues across the framework.
  • To carry out Environmental Advisories.
  • To support the Environmental Manager and Business in carrying out Environmental Investigations.

Experience

Essential:

  • Proven Environmental related experience

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Environmental Degree or equivalent
  • PIEMA or equivalent (working towards MIEMA/ CEnv)

Desirable:

  • MIEMA CEnv or equivalent
