The role of the Senior Manager within the Corporate Relations team serves as a true deputy to the Corporate Relations Director, working to support the wider team across projects and with line management responsibility of the Press Office Assistant. 


The role will employ proactive and creative media relations with international business and finance media, maximising major brand moments and digital advances for corporate storytelling. As owner of the global press office, the role has responsibility for maintaining best in class corporate digital channels, as well as leading on the management of our corporate publications such as the Annual Report and Burberryplc.com. 


The role will also act as the dedicated to the day to day manager of our corporate reputation in Asia. Arguably one of Burberry’s most important regions, it is essential the teams in-market marketing and communications teams maintain a single point of contact at the corporate centre. This will provide support on managing complex issues as well as identifying opportunities for active reputation building in line with the Corporate Relations Strategy. 


This role will support the Corporate Relations Director in delivering the overall corporate reputation strategy and handling all issues relating to the external corporate reputation of the business, with specific responsibility for: 


Corporate reputation strategy  

  • Lead on the execution of specific aspects of the Corporate Reputation Strategy – expertly managing complex announcements, news and stories end to end while liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders 
  • Day to day management of our corporate reputation in Asia. Be the main point of contact for the Asia regional PR agency, working across multiple markets and managing multiple stakeholders to identify opportunities for storytelling and managing issues.   


Corporate publications  

  • Lead on the day to day delivery/maintenance of corporate publications and channels such as Burberryplc.com, maintain the best in class approach  
  • Lead project management of the Annual Report – working closely with multiple stakeholders across the business and managing the copy-writer employed to help draft all sections (in partnership with internal experts) 


Best in class press office  

  • Responsibility for smooth running of the global press office and all associated processes 
  • Line management of Press Office Assistant  
  • Actively building and managing relationships with stakeholders across media and public affairs  
  • Lead management of press office around significant announcements and financial reporting  
  • Contribute to management of crisis communications  
  • Lead management of integrated corporate storytelling across corporate digital and social channels 



Strong Corporate Relations experience either in-house or at an agency 

Strong experience of financial calendar and issues management in the UK and globally 

Strong experience of managing communications/design/digital agencies  

Excellent project management skills, able to lead a long-term project in partnership with multiple senior internal stakeholders  

Excellent media relations skills, able to handle complex media enquiries independently 

Strong experience of working to deliver integrated communications plans, working closely with brand and product marketing teams  

Strong experience in managing multi-channel communications campaigns and storytelling 

Passion for the brand and a detailed understanding of the luxury/fashion industry 




Relevant sector experience, a proven ability to work well under pressure, assiduous attention to detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines will need to be complemented by a friendly and flexible approach.  

The candidate will be able to develop close media relationships, be a team player, be able to use their initiative and be responsive to contact outside traditional working times.  

The candidate will need experience in handling complex media issues, while displaying an ability to simplify technical language and tell a strong story.
