Sales & Events Operations Manager at the Design Museum
Location: Design Museum, South Kensington and Rocket Food HQ, Battersea, London
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm (40 hours per week)

Position Overview: As the Sales & Events Operations Manager at the Design Museum, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to understand client needs, provide comprehensive assistance, and foster positive relationships to maintain the connection between the Design Museum and Rocket. It’s vital to collaborate with the events team and have a solid grasp of what we bring to the table of our offerings. These are crucial aspects of this role.


Key responsibilities:

  • Understanding Clients

    • Gather relevant information to ensure a thorough understanding of client requirements.

      oCustomise solutions to meet the unique requirements of each client and boost client satisfaction

  • Product Knowledge

    • Stay well-informed about the Design Museum event offering

    •  Continuously update your knowledge to provide accurate and up-to-date information to clients.

  • Building Rapport

  • Timely Communication
      •  Respond promptly to client inquiries through various communication channels.
      • Maintain open and transparent communication with both clients and the events team.
  • Equipment Management:

    •  Regularly check the amount of equipment available onsite, ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance.

    • o Conduct a physical inventory every month

  • Equipment Procurement:

  • Sales Strategy:

    •  Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth.

    • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction.

  • Sales Planning and Forecasting:

    • Develop sales forecasts and budgets

    • Create a quote tailored to meet the specific requirements of the client.

Qualifications and skills you’ll possess:

o Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

o Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

o Proficiency using MS Suite, CRM platforms and strong computer literacy skills.

o Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work independently.

o Strong problem-solving, interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.

o Genuine passion for hospitality, food, and very importantly, people.

o Excellent team player with a hands-on and organised approach with a palpable can-do attitude.

The experience to help you to succeed:

o Proven experience as an Operations, Sales, or Events Manager and a background in hospitality.

o Experience in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
