The recipe!

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring equipment reliability, tackling reactive repairs and performing preventative maintenance activities. You’ll also play a vital part in driving continuous improvement while being part of a dedicated, highly skilled team that operates around the clock in support of multiple facilities.

• Work collaboratively and independently in a shift-based team to support multiple facilities.
• Provide engineering support to resolve breakdowns and priority issues in production.
• Deliver planned maintenance to ensure asset reliability and availability.
• Work autonomously with minimal supervision, making timely decisions to address issues.
• Apply mechanical, electrical, and PLC control engineering skills to solve problems.
• Adhere to company safety, food safety, and legal compliance practices.
• Supervise external contractors to ensure adherence to company procedures.
• Familiarity with diverse engineering assets and perform reactive maintenance tasks efficiently.
• Report unresolved equipment issues and attend MOS meetings as needed.
• Identify opportunities for improving asset reliability and engineering processes.
• Utilise CMMS to log and review maintenance work.
• Provide training for transferring basic engineering tasks to operators.

Requirements

Non-negotiables

• Demonstrable mechanical and electrical capability through training and experience
• Engineering Qualification or apprenticeship (HNC or above preferred)
• Engineering experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Strong IT skills to include use of Computer Maintenance Management Systems
• Alignment to Weetabix values
• Are always curious to finding new ways to do business!
• Have the ability to demonstrate how you keep up to date in your field of expertise

Nice to haves

• PLC experience
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good time management and ability to make timely decisions
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team
