Job Purpose:

To begin and take ownership of the end to end process of managing a product range with guidance from senior management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct the seasonal buy 4 times a year along with the strategic direction for each category and present the range plan for approval
  • Analyse weekly/monthly sales reports and propose appropriate action to take
  • Responsible for the appropriate stock allocation for each category with the strategic direction for each store
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising team in developing the strategic plan for the Product category and influence cross-functional team to deliver strategic direction for the category
  • Create effective working relationships with Regional Merchandising team in APAC to support the sales and to keep an appropriate stock level
  • Conduct product training to store for each season and present the strategy for each category
  • Develop and present the range plan for approval including pricing strategy, COO and competition strategy
  • Accountable for the sample budgets for the category, and ensure the tracking, maintaining and ordering of the Samples are managed effectively
  • Manage PLM data entry and support the Merchandising Assistant to prepare reports using excel for Merchandising team
  • Conduct competitive analysis including Pricing Analysis
  • Partner with the Corporate Pricing team to understand price-bands across the three core currencies and report back findings to the Merchandising team; maintain data to support the price structure in PLM
  • Coordinate and support all administration duties relating to the Merchandising team

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English (both written and spoken)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of retail business dynamics
  • Ability to interpret market trends and translate them into actionable merchandising strategies
