Lead Supply Chain Manager – Booker Group
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, NN8 1LT
Shift Hours: 38 hrs per week (Mon – Fri)

At Booker Group, we’re looking for a Lead Supply Chain Manager who’s excited by making things work better; for customers, colleagues and the business. This is a key role within a fast paced team, with real scope to influence how our supply chain operates today and how it evolves for the future.
Based in our Wellingborough office, you’ll work closely with the Head of Supply Chain – Operations and a broad network of teams across the business. You’ll be leading an experienced group of Supply Chain Managers and Supply Planners, supporting them to do their best work while keeping stock flowing smoothly through our depots.
At its heart, this role is about balancing availability, cost and service. You’ll use insight, strong relationships and sound judgement to make sure the right stock is in the right place at the right time, and you’ll play an active part in the wider transformation of our supply chain.
As this role requires regular travel to our sites, a car allowance will be provided where applicable.
- Lead and develop a team of Supply Chain Managers & Supply Planners to deliver strong performance and growth.
- Own stock forecasting and flow to balance availability, cost, stock targets and waste.
- Manage depot intake, service levels and planning for seasonal and promotional demand.
- Anticipate supply risks and work proactively to protect availability.
- Build effective supplier partnerships, including VMI and joint supply planning.
- Work cross‑functionally to drive efficiency, support growth and secure supply.
- Contribute to supply chain transformation and continuous improvement.
- Build positive relationships across the business while fostering an inclusive, high‑performing team culture and role modelling out Leadership behaviours
- Solid experience in supply chain planning, ideally within the Fast‑Moving Goods (FMG) sector.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work collaboratively.
- A commercial, data‑led approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Experience managing stock, service levels and budgets with customers in mind.
- Confidence leading and developing people, with a focus on performance and capability.
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast‑paced, changeable environment.
- A pragmatic approach and the ability to work effectively within a matrix organisation.
