Laboratory Technician – Rathcoole 

To perform analysis as required in accordance with internal and waste licence regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • To perform appropriate tests on incoming and outgoing wastes daily and to record, interpret and report results of same.
  • To perform appropriate tests on incoming waste oil and to record and report on results of same.
  • Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • To work closely with the operations team to deliver solutions and ensure customer/business demands are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To work closely with other lab personnel to research, develop and validate new methods as appropriate.
  • To proactively address and highlight potential issues to the relevant department when necessary.
  • To adhere to the company’s health and safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments and audits when and where necessary.
  • To ensure that appropriate levels of consumables are maintained within the lab and to highlight shortages as necessary.
  • To ensure that the lab is always kept clean and tidy and adhere to good housekeeping practices.
  • To provide direct support to the Portlaoise business as and when required e.g. Health, Safety and environmental duties, finance duties as may reasonably be requested.
