Role Purpose:

You will be working alongside a team of hardworking individuals, responsible for providing accurate and timely management information to support the business in decision making The role has an interesting balance of management and financial accounting/reporting.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Leading the annual audit process acting as a key point of contact for audit queries and ensuring all information provided to the auditors is robust.

• Keep senior management informed of statutory / technical reporting updates. Completion of year-end tax packs for our external tax advisors.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. Accountability for the monthly reporting of utility costs including the accurate & timely reporting of the P&L and Balance sheet, and explanations of variances to budget and year-on -year movements.
• Support with monthly restaurant-level reviews, including variance analysis & opportunities for improvement.
• Ownership of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts for utilities alongside the FP&A team.
• Overseeing and understanding the process for posting and reconciling weekly revenue for the restaurants and providing cover for the fixed assets and cash accountant when required.
• Ownership of all revenue/takings related balance sheet reconciliations.
• Fixed Assets process improvement.
• Support with production of the monthly reporting pack (balance sheet, cashflow) and providing in depth analysis of quarterly balance sheet movements to the parent US team.
• Involvement in other ad hoc projects, and provision of financial information to internal/external stakeholders, as required.

Skills, Behaviours and Competencies

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) from a top/mid-tier accounting firm. Ideally the individual will be making their first or second move from practice.
• Inquisitive, showing the initiative to investigate discrepancies and drive resolution.
• Integrating– taking the right course of action, rather than the easiest.
• Planning and organisational skills, and able to work under pressure to meet key deadlines.Who is hands-on, and keen to understand underlying processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• To manage large volumes of data, quickly and accurately.Microsoft Excel user i.e. pivot tables, v lookups, ‘if’ functions.

DeSirable

• Experience of auditing the hospitality/retail/consumer sectors (multi-site clients)
• Experience of using/auditing a recognised accounting software (we use Access Dimensions)
• Experience of using a Statutory account reporting software (we currently use Accurri)
• Experience of accounting for leases under IFRS16
