Position: English teacher
Location: Bassaleg, Newport
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term time
Salary Details: up to £36,000 per annum
We are seeking to appoint a English Teacher to join this thriving School. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, they will be responsible for the delivery of engaging and challenging lessons, ensuring that the department and the school are successful in achieving its aims. The ideal candidate will:
- Plan and teach well-structured lessons
- Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs to motivate them
- Know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas you teach, including statutory assessment requirements.
- Experience of teaching English.
- A dedicated work ethic to ensure the needs of all students.
- Is passionate about making learning effective and enjoyable
- SEN experience (Desired but not essential)
Who we are:
Located in Bassaleg, Newport supporting learners aged 9-16 with learning differences. The school is registered to provide education for up to 20 pupils, who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). We cater for a mix of residential and day placements.
