We are seeking a Economic Crime Officer to join the Second Line of Defence, supporting the Fraud Risk team in monitoring and managing fraud risk exposure.
As an Economic Crime Officer, you will play a key role in protecting our customers by identifying and mitigating fraud threats across the organisation. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business, leveraging your expertise to help assess and enhance fraud controls. The role will include the provision of assurance on the adequacy of Starling’s key controls and risk management activities, horizon scanning and controls testing.
Responsibilities:
- Fraud Assurance & Risk Management – assisting in the planning and execution of assurance reviews across the fraud landscape, and assisting with controls testing by gaining an understanding of the area in question
- Reporting & Stakeholder Communication – capturing outputs of reviews into a formal report, and communicating these to relevant stakeholders across the organisation
- Regulatory Compliance – periodically review compliance with regulation, and codes of best practice
- Data Analysis & Insights – analysing quality data metrics, trends and patterns, and sharing common themes with stakeholders;
- Best Practice & Collaboration – horizon scanning for upcoming regulatory changes, and working with wider teams across the business to ensure best practice is being met.
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience in a Fraud role, or similar;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and solve complex problems
- A naturally inquisitive mindset, with the ability to assess data, identify risks, and propose solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting findings both verbally and in writing
- A proactive and adaptable approach to change, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
