About us
The King’s Health Partners Clinical Trials Office is a collaboration between King’s College London, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. It was set up to provide a single interface for those wishing to conduct clinical trials within the partner organisations, and to ensure that there are common, efficient processes for the set up and administration of clinical trials.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and creative part time (0.6 WTE) Communications Manager who will provide communications support across the whole of the Clinical Trials Office, with an emphasis on communications between Partner Organisations and engagement with external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will take a proactive and collaborative approach to delivering communications and have a thorough working knowledge and experience of a broad range of communications plans and activities including e-bulletins and management of website content.
The post-holder will:
- Write for a range of different audiences (both internal and external), and will be able to adapt their style accordingly.
- Be able to distil complex research and medical information into easy to understand and engaging copy.
- Work closely with Partner and KHP communications teams to promote CTO activities and ensure relevant Partner information is communicated to the internal teams.
- Work with the CTO Director and the commercial and non-commercial Senior Managers in organising and supporting events (both internal and external). This may involve identifying suitable venues, liaising with relevant speakers and participants, organising all aspects of exhibition/conference attendance, provision of appropriate exhibition stands and materials, and logistics on the day.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for the implementation and delivery of a KHP CTO e-bulletin for internal and external distribution.
- Responsible for the KHP CTO website, ensuring content is regularly updated and relevant to all stakeholders.
- Seek out and write compelling stories which align to and showcase the CTO and Partners using multiple formats including written content and videos.
- Establish effective networks internally and externally to maximise knowledge and understanding of the CTO’s work and new developments.
- Support the CTO Director and Senior Managers with content and design of presentations, leaflets, posters and other materials for widespread distribution.
- Set up and manage a CTO contact database and distribution lists, ensuring these are regularly updated to maintain accuracy.
- Organise and support events such as International Clinical Trials Day.
- Plan, manage and deliver effective communications which supports all aspects of the CTO.
- Provide advice and best practice guidance on communications and channels for the promotion of the CTO’s activities to key internal and external audiences.
- Manage continual evaluation and review of the effectiveness of the communications and engagement activity, including gathering, interpreting, and presenting data; identifying areas for improvement; and gathering feedback.
- Develop effective relationships with internal colleagues, senior stakeholders and key partners.
- Work closely with Partner and KHP communications teams to promote CTO activities and ensure relevant Partner information is communicated to the internal teams.
- Provide input into reports and presentations by senior staff.
- Responsible for communicating key performance data to Partners and other stakeholders

This post is office based for a minimum of two days per week.
This is a part time post (21 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 28/04/2027.
