Cleaning Operative – Chester, England

The Role

The role of the Cleaning Operative is to carry out cleaning tasks specified in the fleet Train Presentation 
Manuals. The Operative will ensure that they follow guidelines and best practice, providing a good 
customer experience. The Operative will follow the instructions and guidance given by the Cleaning 
Supervisor to ensure cleaning standards are maintained. 

Role responsibilities

• Using equipment provided, clean designated facility areas (this includes TFWRL Train services) 
  Tasks include: damp wiping, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, luggage racks.
• Where site specified, clean station platforms, including emptying bins, wiping signage, graffiti 
  removal, removing pigeon excrement all subject to training.
• Using supplies provided, replenish and restock designated facility areas (this includes TFWRL 
  train services) Tasks include: replenish soap, toilet rolls, hand towels
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs. (This includes whilst onboard 
  TFWRL Train services) using the fault reporting system

Who we’re looking for

        • A small level of experience of working in a cleaning role. 
        • Ability to handle equipment and materials 
        • Understand Health and Safety policies and procedures 
        • Understanding of how to safely handle cleaning substances, to understand and interpret COSHH  (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) 
        • Flexible and available to work the shifts required. 
        • Ability to understand and interpret information and instructions 

Welsh Language Skills

While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
