We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Catering Manager to join the team at one of our units, We need someone with the passion to take the unit to the next level by improving service, sales and people performance.

As the Catering Manager, you will oversee the full catering services on-site, lead and manage a motivated, trained team with the appropriate skills to deliver a profitable store and ensure all budget targets and KPI’s are not just achieved but exceeded. Ambitious and commercially aware, with the presence and personality to influence the day to day business, you’ll maximise the performance of your team. Leading by example and setting high standards, you’ll enhance sales and provide our customers with great service

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Promote a safety culture across the unit ensuring all Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times e.g. Food Handling, Manual handling, Fire procedures   
  • Ensure all Food Safety and Health & Safety paperwork is maintained correctly on a continual basis to ensure full compliance
  • Accountable for the cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding working areas ensuring Health and Safety hazards, issues, near misses and accidents are reported using the appropriate reporting procedures at the earliest opportunity
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery is in safe working order; all faults/repairs are reported using the appropriate reporting procedures at the earliest opportunity
  • Manage the delivery of the food service provision across unit utilising all available resources effectively and efficiently ensuring that all meals are provided to the required quality standards at the specified times to create a consistent customer experience and avoid any service failures or penalties 
  • Role model the ESS Way values and behaviours always to colleagues, customers & clients and demonstrate the Compass DNA behaviours at ‘Managing’ level
  • Manage all labour costs effectively in line with the labour bid model
  • Conduct regular team meetings including the Huddle and provide essential business information/updates
  • Proactively develop and continually improve all client and customer relationships
  • 2 years Catering Management experience
  • Experience with building client relationships
  • Highly motivated
  • Financial awareness to complete weekly business returns and full accountability for P&L
  • Motivated to deliver consistently high standards of food and service quality
  • Friendly and approachable, with the management skills to develop and manage a team
