Sense are looking for a motivated people to join our professional team as a casual / relief / bank Support Worker in Tonypandy. This is a flexible, working 0 – 12 hours per week in a community setting. 

Our casual / relief / bank roles are perfect for candidates looking for a role with full flexibility or for candidates looking for a 2nd income. 

Our service operations on 4 hour sessions from 10am to 2pm; and is open 7 days a week, so we are looking for candidates with a wide range of flexibility. 

This role is in a well established community service, supporting clients with sensory impairments to maintain independence and carry out activities that are important to them. Support can include helping a client with their weekly shopping, visiting family, taking exercise or attending local groups.

At this time we welcome applicants with a basic knowledge of British Sign Language BSL in order to support clients out in the community.

Full training is given and we will support suitable applicants to develop BSL skills.

About you 

A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role. 

We would like to hear from you if you have experience of working with vulnerable people, and ideally have experience of working with people with a sensory impairment.

A willingness to develop your skills in all communication methods is an essential part of this role. You will need to be able to creatively solve problems that may arise using a person-centred approach and ideally have experience of using person-centred planning tools.

You must be enthusiastic, adaptable and friendly with a commitment to ensuring the individual you work with get the best out of their lives.
