Are you looking for a rewarding job where you go home knowing that you have made a real impact on a child’s life?

Sense is currently recruiting a Children’s Services Support Worker to join our services in Jordanstown.  At our Children’s centre we offer a pre-school nursery, after school provision and summer scheme. Our staff are highly committed and receive a comprehensive training and support programme.

Attracting a salary of £9.22 per hour, staff on our casual / flexi contract, are needed to provide support at busy periods or to cover for staff absence.

As a Children’s Support Worker you will enable and empower children to lead active lives.  Staff support children to enjoy new experiences; to make choices, to express themselves and to have fun.

Our service supports children with complex needs, including sensory loss, autism and complex medical needs.  We are a supportive team who work together to create a child led service which meets the unique needs of each child.

Key skills and experience

Previous experience supporting children and young people is essential (this may be in a professional or voluntary capacity) for this role. It is really important that you’re committed, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work creatively to deliver high quality activities, always putting the children we support first. We are looking for people that really embrace our values and ‘I’ statements.

Our values

Everything we do is underpinned by five core values. These values shape the way we work as we pursue our vision of a world where no one, no matter how complex their disabilities is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.

We include, We collaborate, We find a way, We challenge, We celebrate.

About Sense
