Get Set UK for transforming lives through career guidance

Can I borrow 30 seconds?

When we talk to people working in rehabilitation or careers advice, they often tell us they’re:

Frustrated that they can’t make their support truly life-changing.
Passionate about helping people find purpose but limited by process.
Searching for a role that lets them see the real difference they make every day.

Sound familiar? Thought so. Give me a minute more — this might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

The Role

This is a Careers, Information, Advice & Guidance (CIAG) Advisor role — but with purpose.

You’ll work inside prison settings, helping individuals rediscover confidence, skills, and direction. Through one-to-one coaching, employability workshops, and personalised action plans, you’ll give people the tools they need to rebuild their lives and succeed beyond custody.

This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to reduce reoffending, strengthen communities, and transform futures.

You’ll:

  • Empower individuals – Deliver career guidance that helps people identify strengths, set goals, and plan meaningful career pathways.

  • Run engaging workshops – Lead interactive sessions on CV writing, interview preparation, financial literacy, and digital skills.

  • Support transitions – Help participants secure Release on Temporary Licence (RoTL) placements, apprenticeships, or further education.

  • Provide holistic support – Address wider barriers such as mental health, housing, or financial challenges that impact employability.

  • Collaborate with partners – Work closely with prison staff, training providers, local authorities, and employers to expand opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance – Adhere to safeguarding, prison protocols, and data protection standards at all times.

Your coaching will give people not just employability skills — but hope, confidence, and a second chance.

The Person

Let’s check a few things:

Do you have experience delivering career guidance, employability coaching, or rehabilitation support?
Do you hold (or are you working towards) a Level 3 or higher qualification in IAG?
Are you comfortable working in secure environments, maintaining professionalism and empathy under pressure?
Can you lead workshops, build trust quickly, and adapt your approach to different learning needs?
Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance — and are you ready to help them find it?

If you’re nodding along, this one’s for you.

What’s in it for you?

Salary: £28,500 – £31,000 (DOE)
Location: HM Prison Belmarsh, SE28 0EB
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Development: Continuous learning through our Your Career, Your Journey framework.
Purpose: A role where every conversation could change a life.

Our Values

We live them every day.

Be Ambitious: Drive growth and progress for yourself and those you support.
Be Inspiring: Motivate others to believe in their potential.
Be Proud: Deliver excellence and celebrate success stories.
Be Considerate: Collaborate with empathy and understanding.
Own it: Take responsibility — for outcomes, impact, and integrity.

Vetting & Security

To work in a prison environment, applicants must pass:

  • Enhanced DBS Check – Ensuring suitability to work with vulnerable groups.

  • Prison Vetting & Clearance – Comprehensive background checks, including employment history and criminal record assessment.

Please note: Due to the security process, recruitment is carried out in advance. Successful applicants will be updated throughout.

So, one last question:
If you could use your skills to guide people towards a second chance and a better future —
is there any reason you wouldn’t apply today?
