About the role

As Associate Brand Manager (ABM) for Mucinex – Cough & Chest Congestion, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth for Mucinex’s largest and most important segment, where the brand is already the undisputed market leader. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that will shape the strategic direction and activation of core products trusted by millions to relieve cough and chest congestion. Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, you will help define category strategy, deliver breakthrough innovation, and execute best-in-class marketing across all touchpoints. Success in this role will require exceptional analytical skills, creative problem solving, and the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, competitive OTC healthcare environment.

Your responsibilities

In summary, you'll:

  • Lead elements of annual brand and marketing plans for the cough & chest congestion segment to maximize long-term sales, market share, and profitability.
  • Own and drive NPD/EPD project management, leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects OTIF (on time, in full).
  • Build P&L business cases for key initiatives, ensuring financial viability and alignment with brand strategy.
  • Conduct deep market, competitive, and shopper analyses using multiple data sources (e.g., Nielsen, Numerator) to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Drive brand equity through high-impact communications, partnerships, and activations that reinforce Mucinex’s leadership in cough & chest congestion relief.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize media and promotional spend through robust performance tracking.
  • Develop and maintain product demand forecasts, KPI dashboards, and scorecards.
  • Initiate and manage consumer and shopper research to uncover actionable insights that fuel strategy.
  • Collaborate extensively with Trade, Sales, Consumer Engagement, Shopper Marketing, Finance, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, and Medical Marketing teams, etc. along with external agencies and vendors, to ensure flawless execution from concept to shelf.
  • Ensure speed to market for new initiatives, campaigns, and promotions.

 

This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement at this time. 

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (MBA strongly preferred).
  • 2-3 years in brand management or marketing in a CPG,  OTC healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record in P&L management, NPD project leadership, and cross-functional influence.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging syndicated data sources such as Nielsen/Numerator.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, proactive problem-solver with a growth mindset.

US salary ranges

USD $105,000.00  –  $157,000.00

US pay transparency

The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
