Reporting to a Programme Manager, you will play a key role in planning, managing and delivering projects that support the Council’s strategic ambitions and deliver meaningful outcomes for residents, services and partners.

This is an important role within the Change and Delivery Service, working collaboratively across services and the wider system to deliver complex projects from initiation through to successful handover and closure. You will use the Council’s project management methodologies, standards and tools to manage plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and reporting.

As Project Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders at all levels to shape project scope, coordinate resources, support effective governance and maintain momentum across delivery. You will provide clear information to programme governance, identify and escalate delivery risks, and act as a trusted source of project management expertise for colleagues and partners.

For more information or an informal discussion, please contact pmo@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

About you

You will be an experienced project manager with a strong understanding of project and change management methodologies, tools and techniques, and the ability to apply these in a complex organisational environment. You will bring proven experience of managing projects from initiation through to delivery, coordinating resources, risk management, budget monitoring and delivering sustainable service improvements.

You will be confident working across organisational boundaries, able to build strong professional relationships and influence a wide range of stakeholders. You will be comfortable analysing complex information, translating ideas into practical plans, and providing clear advice and reporting to support good decision making.

You will have excellent communication, planning and organisational skills, with high standards of accuracy and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You will be resilient, collaborative and proactive, with the confidence to constructively challenge, hold others to account and support colleagues to deliver their best.
