Interim Industry Experience and Learning Manager – Strand, London, WC2R 2LS

About us:

The Industry Experience and Learning Manager leads the coordination and delivery of employer-connected learning across curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular provision within King’s Business School. Working closely with Careers colleagues, Programme Directors, academics and professional services teams, the role ensures the effective delivery of an established cycle of activity that supports students to engage with employers, develop practical career skills and build career readiness.
This includes delivering employer-engaged interventions such as micro-internships, business simulations and company visits, alongside contributing to the ongoing development of modules and targeted activities. The role ensures all provision is inclusive, aligned to programme needs, and embedded within the wider student experience.

The role also provides day-to-day leadership for a small team, manages relationships with employers and internal stakeholders, and oversees delivery across the academic year. In addition, the role-holder evaluates activity, assesses impact and return on investment, and uses data-driven insight to inform future strategy and curriculum development.

About the role:

The Industry Experience and Learning Manager is responsible for the design, delivery and continuous enhancement of employer-connected learning across King’s Business School. Working closely with Programme Directors and the wider education team, the role ensures the curriculum is effectively aligned to the realities of the employment market by identifying gaps in student preparedness and embedding employer input to address these.

This includes designing and delivering a range of engaging, employer-related activities within the curriculum, such as competitions, live projects, guest lectures, co-designed modules and company visits. These interventions are tailored to the needs, demographics and career aspirations of different student cohorts, and are delivered in line with King’s and KBS commitments to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. The role also works collaboratively with careers and student experience teams to create structured “sensemaking” opportunities, helping students connect curricular learning with co- and extra-curricular activities and develop a personalised employability journey.

In addition to programme delivery, the role provides day-to-day leadership for a team of Work Related Learning professionals. This includes setting objectives, conducting one-to-one meetings and performance reviews, allocating workloads and supporting recruitment, induction and ongoing development. The role fosters a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on continuous improvement and enhanced student outcomes.

A key aspect of the role is the use of data and evaluation to inform practice. This includes bringing external labour market insights into discussions with the School’s leadership and academic teams, as well as shaping a clear, evidence-based narrative around the distinctive capabilities of KBS graduates. The role also leads on evaluating activities, sharing insights with stakeholders and promoting the adoption of effective practice across programmes.

The post holder maintains strong relationships with external partners, including employers and alumni, ensuring their meaningful integration into the curriculum. They also work closely with internal stakeholders across employer engagement, programme management and other external-facing teams to support a coordinated and impactful approach to employability within the School.

Experience of work-related learning is not essential for this position, however if the successful applicant does not have this background it would be expected they would build their knowledge in this area as they would be required to run and quality assure work related learning activities.
