Job Purpose:

We are seeking a strategic Finance Analyst to analyze financial data and develop forecasts for Japan. This is a prestigious and highly visible role within Burberry, providing insightful financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to drive strategic decision-making in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Finance team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget & Forecast: Prepare budgets and forecasts for Japan, including system uploads, reconciliation, and validation
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare reports and analyze business performance; identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Business Partner: Collaborate with Asia Pacific Finance and local teams across Japan to provide actionable insights
  • Projects & Improvements: Participate in Asia Pacific finance projects and challenge current processes to improve efficiency, controls, and quality
  • Accounting Collaboration: Ensure monthly accounts are accurate and complete with local accounting team
  • Ad hoc Analysis: Respond to queries and analyses, prioritizing effectively to ensure timely delivery

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Native/ business-level Japanese & English
  • 3 years+ of experience in management reporting and financial analysis, retail industry is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret complex data quickly
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience building and managing complex models and large datasets
  • Focus on continuous process improvement and driving efficiencies
  • Detail-oriented, dedicated, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
