About the role

Southfields Care home, rated GOOD by CQC, provides exceptional levels of support to people living with dementia, physical disabilities or /and sensory impairments. 

Situated in a residential suburb in Northampton, Southfields offers a wonderful living environment in which residents can enjoy an enhanced quality of life.

We have teams of friendly and committed staff who provide the highest level of dementia care and residential care.  

With our great accommodation, facilities and programme of activities, our care home evokes a home from home atmosphere in which our residents can feel comfortable, content and very well cared for.

What will you be doing?

As a Care & Support Assistant, you’ll support those in the local community who may be living with a mental or a physical disability. You’ll give them whatever level of support they need – from helping them to choose the right outfit to delivering personal care including washing them or brushing their teeth. 

You’ll get to know our residents by talking to them. You’ll help with their medication, mealtimes, organising and taking part in activities and generally ensuring all those we support are living their best lives. 

We offer flexible working hours for the Care & Support Assistant roles at Southfields Care Home.
 Shifts are 7 hours long and run as follows:

  • Morning shift: 7:45am – 2:45pm
  • Evening shift: 2:45pm – 9:45pm
  • Alternate weekend working is required.

We can accommodate weekly contracts of 7, 14, 21, 28, or 35 hours, but please note that you must be available to work full shifts as scheduled.

About you
As we offer fullhands-on training where you can work towards relevant certifications, you don’t have to have any particular experience. BUT you do need to have the passion and will to provide exceptional level care and make individuals feel seen and cared for.

At minimum we offer 2.5 weeks induction training and a further 2-4 weeks “Buddy scheme” too. We will settle you in gradually, so you feel supported every step of the way.

 

Unfortunately, this role does not meet the legal requirements for visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. 

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
