You’ll lead on compliance monitoring, ensuring we meet regulatory and legislative standards. Your work will span ISO audits, panel insurer reviews, and other key assurance activities that keep our business running smoothly and responsibly.
This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise to a high-profile role, where your insights will shape how we manage risk and uphold compliance across the organisation.
What will I be doing?
- Scope and deliver assurance reviews across key regulatory risk areas, including Conduct Risk, Customer Outcomes, and Consumer Duty.
- Support the development and execution of the annual Assurance Plan, ensuring timely delivery and escalation of any gaps or deficiencies.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to team members, reviewing outputs and ensuring alignment with departmental standards.
- Lead ad-hoc investigations and reviews in response to regulatory guidance or senior leadership requests.
- Design detailed test plans and gather evidence to support clear, auditable findings.
- Collaborate with the Head of Assurance to produce insightful dashboards and management reports for governance forums.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders, to communicate review scopes, findings, and agreed actions.
- Drive the action management programme, ensuring timely resolution and robust evidence for action closure.
- Stay informed on emerging regulations through horizon scanning and liaise with the Technical Policy and Risk team.
- Contribute to board-level reporting and support the ongoing development of the risk-based Assurance Plan.
What do I need?
- Strong understanding of general insurance regulation and the FCA’s approach, priorities, and expectations.
- Proven ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, actionable advice.
- Confident in engaging and constructively challenging senior stakeholders across the business.
- Skilled in mentoring and supporting team members, with experience in reviewing work and providing feedback.
- Commercially aware, with insight into insurance product distribution via contact centres and associated customer risks.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey compliance requirements clearly and concisely.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Experience in planning and delivering compliance monitoring and assurance activities.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess diverse situations and provide sound, objective decisions.
